Casamia team to open pizza and tapas eateries

By Bristol24/7  Wednesday Dec 16, 2015

Michelin-starred Casamia have announced that alongside relocating their Westbury-on-Trym restaurant to the new General Hospital development in Redcliffe in January they will also be opening two new eateries on the site.

Pi Shop will offer sourdough pizza and ice cream. Once scheduled to open in Portishead, Pi Shop will have an open-plan kitchen and wood-fired oven, creating “stripped-back ‘Napoli meets Bristol’ pizzas in a fun, relaxed atmosphere”.

Paco Tapas promises to be an authentic tapas and sherry bar with influences from Andalucía. It is named after Casamia patriarch Paco Sanchez-Iglesias, who founded Casamia with his wife Sue as a neighbourhood trattoria in 1999. “Paco’s dishes are colourfully tasty and stay true to authentic Spanish cuisine” its website says.

The three restaurants will come under the banner Sanchez Brothers in memory of Casamia co-head chef and co-owner Jonray (below left, with older brother Peter), who died in November after losing his battle with cancer.
