Casamia to reopen with extended menu

By Martin Booth  Wednesday Jul 8, 2020

One of Bristol’s most garlanded restaurants is reopening in August promising to create “an unforgettable dining experience”.

In a newsletter to customers, Casamia thanked them “for your patience and your trust in us over this tricky period. Rest assured we are ready and excited to repay your faith in us.

The tasting menu will be extended to around 20 courses at the Michelin-starred Redcliffe restaurant that was named the best restaurant in the UK in 2019.

“By the time you arrive we will have developed the restaurant space, format and our menu to reflect our total ambition for what a restaurant can be, chef-patron Peter Sanchez-Iglesias and his team said in their latest update.

From the first service on August 5, there will be just six tables and a maximum of 18 covers, reduced from 25 before the arrival of the coronavirus pandemic.

A meal at Casamia when it reopens will cost £180 per person.

The newsletter added: “We are truly looking to create an unforgettable dining experience.”

Casamia’s sister restaurant, Paco Tapas, will be reopening from July 28.

The 3rd will also hopefully make a return at a later date. The bakery and cafe opened briefly in March between Casamia and Paco Tapas in the former Pi Shop pizzeria before being forced to close due to coronavirus.
