Chez Marcel could spread from Bristol to across the UK
There are not many alleyways in Bristol where a deep breath is recommended.
Walk from Broad Street to Tailors Court in the heart of the Old City, however, and smell the aromas of pancakes wafting through the air.
These delicious scents from Chez Marcel can currently only be enjoyed in Bristol but that could be set to change soon.
is needed now More than ever
Chez Marcel is a crêperie that offers a taste of the traditional dish of Brittany, serving both savoury galettes and sweet crêpes alongside Breton cider and French wines.
The business was opened in 2019 on the site of the former Maximillions by Greg Raccommandato, who named the restaurant after his then seven-year-old son.
It was recently turned into a toy shop called Mr Emporium as Doctor Who filmed scenes on Broad Street.
Marcel’s name could soon be known across the UK, with Greg now looking for franchise partners.
This means that the format and business model is for sale and would be purchased by “ambitious entrepreneurs (looking) to open either a single location or multiple sites within an exclusive region”.
Franchise partners will also receive training and ongoing support.
