Coyote Ugly Saloon to open their first bar in Bristol

By Martin Booth  Friday Dec 15, 2023

A bar whose founder’s life story was turned into a Hollywood movie is opening a venue in Bristol.

The first Coyote Ugly Saloon opened in New York in 1993, with bars now across the USA and the UK known for their mostly female staff’s dance routines.

Coyote Ugly Saloon in Bristol promises to “bring the signature blend of unique events, energetic dance routines, and a lively atmosphere that has made Coyote Ugly a global phenomenon”.

The new bar is set to open in February on Bordeaux Quay in what was most recently Revolucion de Cuba until that closed suddently in October; and before that Bordeaux Quay restaurant, a trailblazer in sustainability.

Far removed from its acclaimed culinary predecessor – which received glowing national praise – Coyote Ugly says it will become “a unique setting for an unparalleled nightlife experience”.

Like the staff dancing on their table tops, the Coyote Ugly team are not being shy in their marketing spiel for the Bristol bar, which will open seven years after its first venture in the UK in London, with other bars now located in Birmingham, Cardiff, Liverpool and Swansea.

A breathless press release says that its opening in Bristol “is a testament to the brand’s enduring popularity and commitment to delivering an exceptional entertainment experience”.

“Coyote Ugly Saloon has become synonymous with top-notch hospitality, electrifying performances, and an atmosphere that guarantees a memorable night out.”

Coyote Ugly area operations manager, Chris Young, added: “We are excited to bring the Coyote Ugly experience to Bristol Harbourside as we celebrate seven years since our journey began.

“Coyote Ugly has become more than just a bar; it’s a cultural phenomenon that transcends borders, and we can’t wait to share the excitement with the vibrant community of Bristol.”
