Eat Drink Bristol Fashion to return in 2020 as new food and music festival

By Martin Booth  Tuesday Dec 17, 2019

One of Bristol’s best chefs is joining forces with the organisers of one of the city’s most popular festivals for a weekend of food and music.

Eat Drink Bristol Fashion 2020 will be organised by Josh Eggleton of the Pony & Trap, Root and Salt & Malt, and Story farmer and Valley Fest founder Luke Hasell; alongside Team Love, the festival and event production company behind Love Saves The Day and The Downs Festival.

The return of Eat Drink Bristol Fashion will take place over the weekend of May 2 and 3 in Castle Park.

Eggleton and the team hope to build on the success of the original festival which was held in Queen Square from 2011 to 2015 as a celebration of Bristol’s food and drink culture.

Next summer, in addition to the food, there will also be music from morning until night from both live acts and DJs.

Eggleton said that the festival “really could only happen in Bristol”.

He said: “We believe Bristol is one, if not the best city in the UK for food and we’re massively proud of this.

“We want to show the country what has been achieved here through collaboration, networking and community engagement.

“And that all this has been done while keeping an open mind and genuine enthusiasm for food rooted within the culture of our city, alongside the music, art and creative scene.”

Penny Warner from Team Love added: “We’re hugely excited to be going into 2020 with a new festival partnership with Josh and Luke which will bring people from all over the city and beyond to eat, drink and dance together.

Castle Park is a great location to bring back a modified and expanded Eat Drink Bristol Fashion for a new decade… it will be a great day out with masses to see and do, all focused on the exceptionally great food and music that Bristol has become known for.”
