Eatchu to open second restaurant
They started off as a market stall just over two years ago, and following a successful move to a building next door to St Nick’s, a popular Japanese restaurant are now set to open their second permanent home.
Eatchu was founded by husband and wife team Guy and Vic Siddall, whose passion for Japanese food began after eating it on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka.
Later this month, Guy and Vic will be opening up Bristol’s second Eatchu within The Old Butcher’s on North Street.
is needed now More than ever
While the original Eatchu in St Nick’s will continue to serve gyoza (Japanese pan-fried dumplings), the new Bedminster restaurant will specialise in ramen, as well as serving gyoza and the beer that The Old Butcher’s is known for.
“We think it’s the perfect restaurant for us,” Guy told Bristol24/7. “It’s a great space and it will be a great way to get our menu out to people so they can try out new things.”
The menu at North Street is as reasonable as it is tasty: most ramen dishes will be priced at £10-12. Eatchu will also become the first chance to eat Japanese food south of the river in a permanent restaurant.
“In Bristol, ramen has become a luxury night out but it shouldn’t be a particularly expensive dish,” Guy added.
“We have always been very proud of the dumplings that we make. We’re going to put as much care and attention into what we do next.
“As much as we love street food, this will be nice for us to have a little bit of variety, and it will be a great opportunity to be able to flex our chef muscles.”
