Floating restaurant to reopen as retail, bar and events space
A former floating restaurant is to reopen as a new retail, bar and events space after being purchased by an artisan spirits brand.
6 O’clock Gin say the reimagined Glassboat will provide guests with a stunning setting to enjoy a selection of delicious G&Ts and cocktails.
The boat moored in Welsh Back will also host a variety of upcoming events, including gin tastings, cocktail masterclasses and gin blending experiences.

Paul Sullivan, managing director of 6 O’clock Gin, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have purchased the Glassboat, our plan is to retain as many original features as possible while breathing new life into this historic site.
“The re-launch of the Glassboat marks a significant milestone for us as we are able to bring our 6 O’clock Gin experiences right into the heart of the city.”
The boat was most recently the short-lived restaurant and takeaway, Fish, but before that it had been the Glassboat for more than three decades. It was put up for sale in May 2022.
The re-opening of the boat is scheduled for later in summer 2023.
