Flour & Ash to return in new location
It was an early casualty of the pandemic then briefly came back as a pop-up.
Now the much-missed Flour & Ash is returning on a new site as a collaboration with some of Bristol’s most experienced restaurateurs.
Flour & Ash founder Steve Gale is joining forces with Hyde & Co group to reopen the restaurant.
is needed now More than ever
Originally of Cheltenham Road near the arches, Flour & Ash 2.0 is due to open in July on Whiteladies Road in the unit that for many years was Entelia and more recently Polpo and No. 50.
As well as wood-fired pizzas, there will be small plates, salads and a selection of wines, cocktails, craft beer and cider.
Pastries and coffees will be available from 8am harking back to Flour & Ash’s short-lived bakery and cafe in Westbury-on-Trym.

Hyde & Co founder Nathan Lee said that he feels “so privileged” to be continuing Flour & Ash’s name “and their reputation for some of the best pizzas in town”.
He said: “We loved working with Steve to bring Flour & Ash back to life during the last lockdown with our takeaway pizza pop up at Bambalan, and having lost our previous Whiteladies site, The Ox Clifton, to a fire back in 2019, we’re so excited to be opening up on Whiteladies; a street we’ve all frequented many times as born and bred Bristolians!
“We’re hoping to bring Flour & Ash’s amazing pizzas and Hyde & Co’s brilliant cocktails and hospitality to the new opening, and can’t wait to give this site a new lease of life.”
