Food writers to swap pens for pans at Too Many Critics Bristol
Some of Bristol’s most well known food critics and writers will be swapping pens for pans on Sunday, March 4 to cook a feast for a room full of chefs and guests, raising vital funds for Action Against Hunger UK.
Over the years, Too Many Critics – first staged in London in 2001, and now with spin-off events in Manchester and Brighton – has introduced dozens of food writers to the heat of a professional kitchen.
Bristol’s inaugural Too Many Critics event will feature Martin Booth (Bristol24/7), Mark Taylor (Bristol Post, Western Daily Press and olive magazine), Jess Carter (Crumbs Magazine), Andy Clarke (food TV producer, award judge, One4TheTable and Crumbs contributor) and Action Against Hunger ambassador Bill Knott (Financial Times).

The menu will be developed with the help of Hyde & Co group exec chef Todd Francis and food awards judge and previous South West Chef of the Year winner Steve Ashworth, with guests having the chance to rate each critic’s dish.
The ticket price of £45 includes a cocktail on arrival, a four-course Middle Eastern-themed feast, and entertainment throughout the evening. All profits from the event will go to Action Against Hunger, world leaders in tackling child malnutrition.
