Former floating restaurant reopens as gin bar
A former floating restaurant has reopened as a gin bar, shop and events space.
Artisan spirits brand 6 O’clock Gin has taken over the Glassboat, which was a fine dining restaurant for 35 years before closing in 2020 and briefly reopening as a seafood restaurant and takeaway called Fish.
As well as serving an array of G&Ts and cocktails, the front of the boat in Welsh Back has been turned into a retail space to sell 6 O’clock Gin products.

The barge will also host events such as gin blending experiences, live music evenings and pop-up dining events.
And there are future plans for a kitchen and a meeting space below deck which will be available for private hire.

“The reopening of the Glassboat signifies a momentous occasion for us as it allows us to introduce 6 O’clock Gin to the heart of the city.
“We invite guests to join us, not only to savour our gins but also to learn more about the art of gin making. Most importantly, we want everyone to have a wonderful time in this unique space.”
