The event has already made its mark in several cities across the globe, including Oslo, Mexico City, Hamburg and Portland, with the only UK event taking place in Bristol.

Extract managing director, Duncan Kendall, said that they are “delighted” to be hosting the event this year.

“It’s exciting to be the only UK host for an event which showcases the speciality coffee industry’s commitment to community,” he said.

The Barista League will take place on the same day as the Bristol Coffee Festival, creating a “double dose of coffee excitement”.

Attendees will witness 12 teams compete in “wild and exciting” challenges that showcase their barista skills in the hope to win some prizes.

As well as the main event, there will be a live DJ and entertainment throughout the night. People can also enjoy food from local eatery, Danny’s Burgers, and drinks provided by Beyond the Bean, Oatly & Toddy and Wiper & True.

Eimear, the Barista League’s director of communications added: “We’re thrilled to be heading back to the UK this autumn and to be bringing the Barista League to Bristol for the first time ever.

“We couldn’t be happier to have the support of Extract who are right at the core of the Bristol coffee community.”
