Gloucester Road restaurant becomes latest Covid casualty
A forward-thinking, health-conscious plant-based restaurant will not be reopening in its current home.
In a statement on its social media channels, Suncraft said thanked their staff, suppliers and regulars.
The building remains in the hands of the same owners, who have new plans for it and who also hope to turn Suncraft into a “more grab-and-go style” but in a new location.

Suncraft opened on Gloucester Road in 2018 as both a restaurant and a takeaway from the same team as the Gallimaufry just over the road.
With a 100 per cent plant-based and gluten-free menu, globally-influenced dishes changed with the seasons, with drinks including cold pressed juices, teas, Kombucha and organic wines.
Co-owner James Koch told Bristol24/7: “We’ve worked really hard to make the concept work, with some success, and learnt a great deal along the way.
“Ultimately we’re now going to focus on the Gallimaufry, possibly looking at a different concept for this site which involves more wet/alcohol sales and then, if we can, a smaller site to relaunch Suncraft in more grab-and-go style.
“We continue to be committed to forward thinking hospitality and recognise the importance of great local partners, sustainable supply chains and plant-based eating within this.”
