Good Chemistry now has its own canning line
Kokomo Weekday was the first of Good Chemistry‘s beers to roll down their new canning line on a recent afternoon.
Good Chemistry co-founder, Bob Cary, kept a watchful eye on proceedings through see-through screens as the noise of the machine filled the St Philip’s brewery.
The new equipment means that the team are able to can their beers when they want to, with Kokomo Weekday and other 440ml cans now available to buy from their own online store and from shops across Bristol.

“This is a step-up for us,” Good Chemistry co-founder Kelly Sidgwick told Bristol24/7.
“It allows us to have much more control of our destiny, if that doesn’t sound too ridiculous. Whatever happens now, we can keep going.”
Kelly was among a group of brewers who recently met with Bristol West MP Thangam Debbonaire, who following the meeting wrote to the chancellor and to the business secretary to ask for urgent support for their industry.
Good Chemistry also own The Good Measure on Chandos Road, with the uncertainty around the pub and restaurant industry also an indicator of how important the new canning line is at the brewery.
“We love pubs,” said Kelly. “They are such an important cultural and historical aspect of society.
“But if pubs are forced to close again, our new canning line now means that we still have a way of keeping our business going.”

Kelly added: “The support that we have received from people has been amazing. When you realise that people love what you do and want to see us continue and success, it’s very humbling.
“We are incredibly grateful for that. Small businesses need everyone’s support right now.”
