Grano goes back to beginning to open their first restaurant
A restaurant that has been a pop-up since starting life in 2018 is set to open its first permanent premises.
And it’s full circle for Grano, who will be opening their restaurant in a corner building in Old Market where they first began when it was the home of Glitch – now in a new home the other side of Old Market Street.
Grano make authentic Italian cuisine including buffalo tagliatelle, cod linguine, arancini and tiramisu.

During the summer of 2021, they were part of an experiment at Bristol Old Vic, with diners eating their food in Coopers Hall.
They have also been at the Boardroom on St Nicholas Street, the short-lived Number Fifty on Whiteladies Road and To the Moon on Midland Road.

“After a year we managed to find the right premise and secure a lease in 48 – 49 Old Market (Street), which is right where we started back in September 2018,” wrote Grano founder Alberto Noriega on Instagram.
“This is our first cafe/restaurant! We have already begun the works needed to transform the space into our vision, the opening date is still uncertain but it won’t be long…
“Please stay tuned for further updates. Thank you all for believing in me. This is Grano 2.0.”
