Hart’s Bakery open new online shop

By Martin Booth  Wednesday May 13, 2020

A new online shop is now the place to order items including bread, pastries and cakes from Hart’s Bakery.

At the moment, this is not a delivery service – with customers currently choosing whether to pick up their food for collection from the bakery on either Friday or Saturday.

The online shop was trialled ahead of the Belly Laughs At Home event on Sunday evening, with a takeaway curry selling out and all profits donated to charity.

An online orders collection hatch will see food able to be picked up contact-free, with the bakery also open for takeaway service only using a one-in one-out policy.

In a blow to flat white fans, no takeaway coffee will be sold.

“While it’s something we hope to reintroduce, we have been taking the government advice of having minimal staff and customers in the bakery at any one time,” said the Hart’s Bakery team. “But, please watch this space for updates!”

The team added: “A small number of our team will be preparing and packing orders, and serving customers.

“We will be working within strict safety guidelines and minimal contact when you collect or come to the bakery.

“Please follow all safety guidelines so we are able to continue to stay open and bring you our delicious baked goods.”
