Indian restaurant to open in former barbers

A modern Indian diner is set to open soon in what used to be a barbers.

Koottaan promises a “a brand new food experience coming soon to St Nicholas Street! Feed your soul, with love from Kerala!”

Their restaurant in the Old City was previously Headmasters for more than a decade.

Koottaan is being opened by Loganathan Ramasamy, who also owns Matancherry in Taunton and Cardiff.

Writing on Facebook, the Koottaan team said: “We’re so delighted to be opening our doors soon, in what is such a famous area for independent businesses, vibrant street culture and flavours from around the globe.

“It’s not long now until you’ll be able to feed your soul with our delicious dishes, with love from Kerala!”
