Join Independents Day picnic in Castle Park

By Bristol24/7  Monday Jun 27, 2016

Why let the Americans have all the fun? On the 4th of July, Bristol will be coming together for a celebration of Independents Day. It’s not a spelling mistake. We want to celebrate the very best of the amazing independent coffee shops, cafes and lunch spots dotted across the city. What better way to celebrate than to dine out on their wonderful produce in sunny Castle Park?

A local startup app company, Ordoo, will be hosting the picnic, providing the food and running the entertainment. Grab your FREE coffee and lunch by ordering ahead on the app at one of their awesome independent partners. Ironworks, Tuk Tuck and Ickle will be putting on special Independents Day BBQs and you can wash this down with some free coffee from Playground, Off Centre Cafe, Barista Coffee Collective, Blue Pig, Beatroot Cafe and more. Swing past and pick up your order when notified and head on down to Castle Park for the main event – ain’t no picnic like an Ordoo picnic.

Among the plentiful supply of picnic gear and mats will be a series of fun and games (supported by indie music) to keep you busy over lunch. Local performers and entertainers are coming along to join the party as well. Just look out for the Ordoo picnic basket and flags and say hello. The giant picnic basket will be filled with  independently made cakes, local goodies and sweet-tooth delights – in case you needed a bit more persuasion to come along.

Picnics, BBQs and frivolities – it’s shaping up to be a day to remember! So book out an extra hour for lunch on the 4th of July, download the Ordoo app and  join the celebrations from 11am. Join our Facebook event for updates.
