Last last orders at the bar at the Hobgoblin
The current custodians of a popular pub on Gloucester Road have thanked all of their customers and staff as they reveal their last day will be on Sunday.
James Ayliffe and Julia Connolly took on the Hobgoblin in November 2012 after it had spent six months as a squat.
They have since transformed it into one of the best-loved pubs in the area, known as much for its fries as for its beer selection.
is needed now More than ever
In a statement, Jules and James said that they “have loved every minute of running The Hobgoblin but it’s now time for us to move on”.
They said: “We’ve had an absolute blast since we opened in 2012. It’s been a total honour serving such wonderful customers and making such fantastic friends, friendships that will last a lifetime.
“We want to give a massive shout out to all the superstars that have worked for team Hob over the years and made it such a joy to be part of. You’re all amazing!
“This Sunday will be our last ‘last orders at the bar please’ so come down and get your fill of the dirtiest dirty fries known to Bristol, perhaps even the world, and raise a glass of Molly Collins.
“It’s been the best decade of our lives, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the wonderful support you’ve shown us. Hobgoblin for life!”
