Collaborations aplenty as Honest Burgers prepare to open in Bristol
The team at Honest Burgers are honest enough to admit that Bristol already has lots of mighty fine burger restaurants and when they open on Clare Street next month they will be joining an already crowded market.
But judging by the businesses in the city they have announced collaborations with, they seem far removed from cocky London types intent at arriving into Bristol and making a quick buck.
From Wednesday to Saturday, they will be popping up at the Robin Hood pub on St Michael’s Hill, with general manager Jasmine and her team serving up their Honest, Tribute or Fritter burger and homemade rosemary chips, with a 30 per cent student and NHS discount on food on Wednesday and Thursday.

On Friday, Honest’s collaboration ale with Good Chemistry in St Philip’s will be served for the first time at the brewery tap, with a free pint for the first 50 people buying burgers from their street food van – which on Saturday and Sunday will also be parked at the Moor brewery just around the corner.

Once the restaurant opens on Clare Street – in what was most recently the short lived TinCan – on Monday, July 2, there will be more drink and food collaborations with a couple of Bristol favourites.
Honest Gin made in partnership with Psychopomp in Kingsdown promises to be a “refreshing gin that riffs on the Honest Burgers pickles recipe”, with botanicals including juniper, coriander, angelica root, liquorice, cucumber, dill seeds and grapefruit zest.
There will also be a unique milkshake made in collaboration with the team at Swoon on College Green.
A poutine burger exclusively on Honest’s Bristol menu will feature Pilton Cider and bacon gravy on top of the burger complete with shoestring fries, Westcombe Dairy-smoked cheddar, cheese curds and bacon.
“Our passion for local collaborations has meant we’ve partnered up with some awesome South West producers who we are really looking forward to working with,” said Honest founder Tom Barton, who last year opened Honest’s own butchery in London, where the growing chain has more than 20 restaurants as well as one in Cambridge and one in Reading.
