Lockdown Loaves to open new bakery and cafe

By Martin Booth  Thursday May 11, 2023

Hannah Catley began Lockdown Loaves during the pandemic, baking from home and delivering across Bristol before opening her first premises in Winterbourne.

Hannah has now secured a second site on King’s Road in Clifton Village which will become a bakery and cafe called Catley’s.

The experienced chef, who competed in Bake Off: The Professionals in 2019, said she is “absolutely thrilled”.

A few items for sale at Lockdown Loaves include sausage rolls, scotch eggs, cookies and regularly changing cheese toasties.

At Christmas, they also sell frozen bake-your-own croissants and pain au chocolate, boxed up along with an instruction card so they can proof overnight and baked fresh in the morning.

Writing on Instagram, Hannah said: “As you may or may not have already heard, we’ve got some rather exciting news!

“We are opening a second site in Clifton village, it’s been in the works for a very long time and I’m absolutely thrilled it’s finally coming together!

“Fear not Lockdown loaves will continue as normal going forward, go and follow @catleys_ for all new site updates including planned opening dates!

“As you can imagine we are now on the hunt for a stellar team for the Clifton site as well as a few additional people for the winterbourne site so keep your eyes peeled for job ads in the coming days!

“I cannot wait to show you all what I’ve been working on, this site is really going to be a dream come true!

“As always thank you all for your continued support, none of this would be possible with our loyal customers and I hope you all know we don’t take any of this for granted!”
