Lost & Grounded to sell beers in cans for first time

By Martin Booth  Friday Jul 20, 2018

Lost & Grounded have swiftly become one of Bristol’s best breweries since opening in St Anne’s in 2016.

It’s taken them until now, however, to produce some of their beers in cans – and in true Lost & Grounded style they are celebrating the launch with a party.

On Friday, July 20 from 4pm to 9pm, their Keller Pils will be available in cans for the very first time at the event in their Whitby Road brewery.

It will also be joined on the shelves by two very special collaborations also in cans:

  • Summer ’18 No. 1 – an American-style light lager brewed with Jopen and Cloudwater
  • Summer ’18 No. 2 – a German-hopped IPL brewed with Northern Monk and Wylam

And if that’s not enough, there will be cheese toasties by For Mice & Men and table tennis in the sunshine.

The two collaborations have come from the Lost & Grounded team inviting other brewers to their St Anne’s headquarters

Lost & Grounded co-founder Annie Clements told Bristol24/7: “We have decided to introduce cans to the market for a number of reasons.

“Cans offer more scope for aesthetically pleasing images and also offer more choice in how people enjoy our beers. Sometime cans are better suited to the outdoors, picnics and the like.

“We have also importantly opened up more routes to market as some retailers or events only buy cans. Personally, we grew up drinking cans in Australia and we are big fans!”

For the foreseeable future, Lost & Grounded will keep packaging their beer in bottles as well, “as we think our beers suit both formats and there is a time and place for both,” says Annie.
