Meera Sodha visits Thali Cafe in Southville

By Bristol24/7  Monday Jun 13, 2016

Meera Sodha launched various new items on the Thali Cafe menu with a cookery demonstration and tasting at the Southville branch of the expanding Bristol restaurant chain.

The bestselling author of Made In India taught guests how to make cauliflower chaat salad, a fresh and colourful summer salad combining roasted cauliflower, pomegranate jewels, pink radish and seasoned with what she described as “lip-smaking” mango chaat.

Meera also prepared a recipe from her new book Fresh India, khajur pak, aka “addictive” date and pistachio balls whizzed up with some cardamon.

Meera’s BBQ Summer Specials are inspired by Bademiya, an infamous Bombay food truck.

Thali Cafe founder Jim Pizer said he is excited to be offering a new experience for Indian food lovers in Bristol.

He said: “As big fans of Made In India, we’re honoured to welcome Meera Sodha to the Thali team. Meera is one of the most exciting voices in Indian food and we’re pleased to announce that our Sticky Mango Paneer recipe features in Meera’s new vegetarian cookbook Fresh India which will be released in July 2016.”
