New beer and street food garden opening in city centre

By Martin Booth  Thursday Jul 2, 2020

A large open air courtyard will become a socially-distanced beer and street food garden this summer.

Opening for the first time on Saturday, Bridewell Beer Garden will feature weekly street food vendors, draft beer, frozen cocktails and music.

Food vendors will be local and independent traders, with different businesses every week in partnership with the Bristol Eats collective.

The space – used most memorably in 2010 as the venue for the Invisible Circus’ Carny Ville – is within the courtyard of The Island, with was originally home to Bristol’s fire station.

Open from Friday to Sunday, there will be a table-service only policy, with Bridewell Beer Garden’s entrance is through the double blue gates on Silver Street.

Tables are reserved on a two-hour basis and can accommodate up to six people either from one household or two different households.
