New brunch joint opens in former shop
Mercy Mercy Mercy is a new cafe and bar that has opened in a corner of Clifton Village that has seen a variety of iterations over recent years.
The latest venture on Boyce’s Avenue promises “brunch, coffee and hair of the dog”.

On Tuesday, 250 free coffees from Cardiff roastery Hard Lines were given out to the first customers through the door.
Taking inspiration from New Cut cafe in Wapping Wharf, the team at Mercy Mercy Mercy are working with Bruton Dairy and Rogue Oat to build a kegged milk system in an effort to remove plastic entirely from their milk supply chain.
Teas are from Flavour Head, there are five different flavours of milkshakes and a changing variety of pressed juices.
For the hair of the dog optiond, there are cocktails, wine by the glass or bottle and beer on tap including Kaleidoscope from Bristol brewery Wiper & True.

As for food, the menu’s list of suppliers includes Reg the Veg just over the road and meat from The Story farms in the Chew Valley.
All costing £6, ‘Jaffles’ are clamshell-toasted sandwiches from a Jaffle iron, with a bacon roll also costing £6, a rosti for £10 and a Wiper & True Milk Stout rarebit for £12.
Mercy Mercy Mercy is open from 8am to 6pm, with later evening openings from Thursday to Saturday until October.
