New cafe and bakery opens near Temple Meads
Mokoko has opened its second cafe and bakery in Bristol.
The new space close to Temple Meads is bigger than its other Bristol cafe in Wapping Wharf, with a large open-plan bakery.
Also with cafes in Bath and Portishead, Mokoko’s aim is to be “a bakery making the products you love by hand each day, the honest way. Beautifully simple and always fresh.”
is needed now More than ever

The new Mokoko is on the ground floor of Box Makers Yard, whose residents get a discount

Everything sold at the cafe is made in the on-site bakery
On the counter on a recent morning were items including almond croissants, carrot cake and chocolate shortbread, with loaves of bread also on display.
Following a growing trend, Mokoko is a cashless business. Its official address is Unit 1, Rosewood, Box Makers Yard.
This is on the corner of New Kingsley Road and Avon Street, close to where a new Sainsbury’s recently opened.

The cafe is full of greenery and vibrant colours and patterns

This corner of Bristol is changing almost beyond recognition
The opening of Mokoko comes as another cafe-cum-bakery, Bakers & Co, has announced that it will be closing.
Bakers & Co first opened on Gloucester Road in 2014, beginning life as a brunch cafe. During the pandemic, it offered provisions, takeaway food, and organic groceries, as well as providing meals for the NHS and vulnerable people.
All staff are being offered opportunities in other Season + Taste businesses Bravas, Gambas and Cargo Cantina, with the unit operating as a pop-up event space before becoming a new venue “fully aligned with the Season + Taste restaurant culture”.
