New cafe opens on Horfield Common
A new cafe has opened in a previously disused external goods yard inside the Ardagh site on Horfield Common.
Cafe on the Common is being run as a social enterprise with all profits coming back in to Friends of Horfield Common‘s work to improve the common and the Ardagh.
The site is currently owned by Bristol City Council but the tennis courts, pitch and putt course and pavilion building are in serious need of improvement.
is needed now More than ever
The cafe is one of the first steps to secure the future of the site as a community sports facility for local people can be secured, with a two-year lease from the council.
Wood chippings create a pleasant environment in the former goods yard, with the cafe itself serving bacon and sausage sandwiches, Brian Wogan coffee, herbal tea, soft drinks and more.
It’s open – weather-permitting – from 10am to 4pm on Friday and Sunday and from 9am to 4pm on Saturday, with longer hours if the sun is shining.
