New cider bar opening date announced
Bristol’s first cider tap room has an official opening date.
Located underneath a Victorian railway arch, The Cider Box will press, ferment and blend craft cider from both around the world and from closer to home.
Due to open on March 21, The Cider Box will have talks, demos, screening and live music, as well as provide a community apple press and offer blend collaborations.

“We’re tremendously excited to be rooting ourselves in Bristol,” says Dan Heath from The Cider Box.
“We’ll be throwing open our doors every weekend to celebrate and raise a glass to the finest cider in the land, with a little cheese here and there for good measure.
Located at Arch 5 on Silverthorne Lane in St Philip’s, the tap room will be open every Friday from 5pm to 8pm, and on Saturdays from midday to 9pm.
The Cider Box is the UK’s largest distributor of craft cider, with warehouses in Shepton Mallet and Hackney, and supplying the likes of the Glastonbury Festival and Fullers.
In addition to cider on tap, The Cider Box will also host tasting sessions, apple juice tastings for children, fruit pressing workshops in the Autumn and talks from cider makers. There will also be Dorset apple cake and cheese on offer to soak it all up.
“The cider landscape is looking brighter than ever,” says Dan. “We’re buzzing to be a part of it here in Bristol, the home of cider.”
