New cocktail bar to become 10th venue from Hyde & Co team
Opening for the first time on Friday, new cocktail bar Death Disco “is inspired by the musical subculture of 1980s Manhattan”.
The new venue is the tenth opening from the Hyde & Co group, with a few of their other businesses – the Milk Thistle, Four Wise Monkeys, the Raven and the Ox – just a stone’s throw away.
Death Disco is located on St Stephen’s Street in the Old City, in premises with historic underground vaults that over the years have previously been occupied by Bar Latina and the Doghouse.
is needed now More than ever
Death Disco has capacity for up to 180 people and will include a private event space, a bar and a dance floor.
The new bar will throw their first event on new year’s eve, which will incorporate live performances, DJs and cocktails.

Hyde & Co founder Nathan Lee said that the idea for Death Disco has been “bubbling away in the background” for a while, “so when the venue arose we knew it was the right spot”.
Nathan said: “We want to provide a totally inclusive space; somewhere between a cocktail bar and a nightclub, where people can enjoy great music and excellent drinks, and experience something a bit different in the city, and we can’t wait to open the doors!”
