New cocktail bar to open in Harbourside
A ‘high-end’ cocktail bar with Hungarian art on its walls is due to open on the Harbourside at a time when businesses around it seem to be closing with an alarming frequency.
Loose Cannon looks set to open on Millennium Promenade between Pizza Express and Sprinkles Gelato, opposite The Cuban.
It promises speciality cocktails made by highly trained bar staff, with table service and opening hours up to 2am.
is needed now More than ever
Owners promise that their signature cocktails, costing from £7.50 to £9.50, will be created to their own recipes according to the season, with homemade syrups and bespoke glassware.

Loose Cannon is set to open in a single unit next to Pizza Express

The Triathlon Shop on Millennium Promenade has been closed for more than a week – but the former Zen Chinese restaurant has recently been occupied by Escape The Room
News of Loose Cannon’s opening comes soon after the closure of Flingers Party Shop almost opposite. Next door to that, The Triathlon Shop has been closed for more than a week with a note in its door blaming staff shortages, and Beyond The Wall cafe within it is also closed.
But in better news for the local area, a new cafe is set to open within Invicta on the floor above Broken Dock, and Salt which used to be located on nearby St George’s Road is due to appear as a pop-up within The Spin Bar in the Harbour Inlet – now rebranded as Brunel Quay.

Work is currently underway to turn the ground floor corner of Invicta into a new cafe and office space
In a testimonial on a brochure presented to Bristol City Council’s licensing committee last year, Insight Retail Consulting said that from the outset they have been impressed with the ideas of Loose Cannon owner Akos Rabi, “particularly the high end nature of the concept which we feel will appeal to a more discerning customer and largely to the office workers in the vicinity, as well as the young professional residents”.
The statement added: “We note that Akos is looking to avoid attracting the ‘stag and hen’ type customer to the unit and his price point is sufficient to discourage this type of customer.
“We are aware that the Harbourside sits within the city centre Cumulative Impact Area however we do not consider that the subject application will add to the cumulative impact already being experienced. We would consider that the proposed Loose Cannon venue will bring something quite different to the Harbourside.”

Loose Cannon say that the ‘size, style and capacity of of our premises are not suitable for bigger groups’
