New Hungarian restaurant opens

A Hungarian restaurant has opened in a historic building that has seen several different iterations in recent years.

The family-run Saucy Dough serves traditional Hungarian dishes such as goulash and deep-fried bread known as lángos.

“As one of Bristol’s only authentic Hungarian dining destinations, we’ve lovingly crafted a array of tastes that captures the essence of Budapest’s unique street food,” says the Saucy Dough website.

Saucy Dough is now open on St George’s Road around the back of City Hall.

Restaurants and cafes here in recent years have been Chill Out, Siam Angel, Steak Me Out and Negril Island.

The building on the corner of St George’s Road and Brandon Steep close to the bottom of Brandon Hill is called Lime Kiln Cottage and dates back to 1775.
