New retro arcade bar to open in city centre

By Charlie Watts  Monday Apr 17, 2023

A retro arcade bar is coming to the city centre in July.

NQ64 will open in the former Opa site on Baldwin Street.

Described as a “neon-splattered drinking den”, the adult-only venue will house classic console and arcade games alongside a strong drinks offering.

There will be game-themed cocktails including the Aku Aku Fruit Punch, inspired by Crash Bandicoot, plus retro snacks such as Space Raiders.

Matt Robson, founder of NQ64, said: “I love Bristol, it’s a mega city! I have conducted some thorough research of its vibrant hospitality scene, and I can’t wait to be part of it.

“I hope that we will bring a fun different offering to the city, but that’s for Bristol to decide!”

NQ64 currently has nine bars across the UK, with the Bristol site its first one in the South West.
