New street food hub to open
A new street food hub is opening from April 12, replacing a much-loved cafe that before that was a popular greasy spoon.
Two Airstream caravans will be at the centre of the new hub by street food collective Bristol Eats (BEATS), which will also serve coffee from Alex Does Coffee.
The caravans and surrounding terrace were previously occupied by Convoy Espresso, which sadly closed during the coronavirus pandemic.
is needed now More than ever
BEATS director Heather Simmonds promises to host an ever-changing array of street food at the site in Paintworks off Bath Road.
“We’re delighted to be working on a site I’ve always loved and can’t wait to serve lunch and excellent coffee to the residents and workforce at Paintworks, and welcoming the wider BS4 community to drop in and grab a bite,” she says.
“We are hoping to fit right in with the local community in our new home and look forward to bringing a buzz to the area!”

The street food pop-up also has the potential the host drinking, music and art in the future.
BEATS is made up of street food traders including Bagel Boys, Kebab Revolution, Meat & Bread, Pizza Monkey, Vee Double Moo, CUPP, Gopal’s Curry Shack and Viet Vite.
The street food collective was formed in 2013 and has won a British Street Food Award. Traders that have been part of the collective have also gone on to open their own physical premises, including Bertha’s Pizza, Burger Theory and Eatchu.
BEATS also runs street food markets, parties and events at university campuses.
