Pasture to open new butchers, grocery and restaurant

By Martin Booth  Tuesday Dec 6, 2022

Since opening in 2018, Pasture has become one of Bristol’s most acclaimed restaurants and has gone on to open a second site in Cardiff.

Now the team are expanding only a few hundred yards from their original home on Portwall Lane.

Due to open in early 2023, Prime & Pasture will include a butchers, grocery, cafe and burger restaurant within a prime corner site.

Prime & Pasture will be located in 2,905 sq ft unit on the corner of St Thomas Street and Cross Street within the much-delayed development Redcliff Quarter development.

It is the first commercial unit to be sold within the new development, for which plans were first submitted in 2016, planning permission granted in 2017 but went back to the drawing board after progress stalled.

Pasture founder Sam Elliott said: “Redcliffe has undergone a major transformation since we first opened our doors in 2018.

“Both residential and office blocks are being constructed all around us and it’s fast becoming a stylish and sought after central location for Bristol.

“We are very excited to bring our new offer to Redcliffe with an emphasis on high quality food and sustainable production and plans for further expansion next year.”
