Pop-up restaurant to become permanent
ABOE is a new restaurant and cocktail bar due to be opened soon by chef Seb Merry.
The name is an acronym for ‘a bit of everything’, with Michelin-trained Merry previously making a name for himself as head chef at the Cloak & Dagger on Cheltenham Road before a stint behind the stoves at Flipside on Whiteladies Road.
ABOE is due to open on the former site of Flipside – previously Papaji’s and Tequila Max – on February 2.

A statement on Flipside’s website said: “We have handed over the baton to the new owner and chef, Sebastian Merry, who will be giving the much-loved site a new lease of life with an amazing new concept and some seriously tasty food.
“Andy and the team, current and previous, want to say a huge thank you to all the great guests they’ve hosted over the years and invite you all to come and try the new food and drink once ABOE. is open.”
