Popular business to open second cafe in Spike Island

By Martin Booth  Monday Jan 13, 2020

It has been less than eight months since Shona Graham reopened her cafe on Cheltenham Road after it was forced to close for almost a year after a car crashed into the building.

Now, Shona is opening Bristol’s second Emmeline within the cafe in Spike Island, in what was most recently Bowl of Plenty.

Shona told Bristol24/7 that the new cafe “will have the same concept and soul” of the original Emmeline, but on a bigger scale.

Open seven days a week, lunchtime food will include salad boxes and grilled sandwiches to eat in or takeaway like on Cheltenham Road, with the addition of daily specials from the kitchen and brunch at the weekends to eat in.

Drinks include coffee from St Jude’s roasters Wogan, booster juices and smoothies; with lots of cake and pastries alongside waffles and breakfast pots.

Shona added: “I am so excited to collaborate with the team at Spike to create a community based destination delivering wholesome and exciting food and drinks south side!”
