Popular Middle Eastern takeaway closes its doors
Jigaraki is closing its doors two years after it opened in Wapping Wharf in 2020.
The Persian and Levantine takeaway opened in Wapping Wharf’s Cargo units during the pandemic, after spending five years trading at festivals across the UK.
Jigaraki came to Cargo with the promise of serving flavours of the Middle East through “honest, wholesome, taste driven food but with a unique twist”.

Jigaraki was founded by Ben Williams, who was inspired by his visit to the small food stalls in Isfahan, Iran.
A social media post on Jigaraki’ Instagram read: “We have decided to press the pause button and close Jigaraki at Cargo 2.
“We will be taking some time to work out what is next for Jigaraki. We would like to thank everyone for their support over the last few years and look forward to seeing you all in the future.”
Members of the Wapping Wharf community expressed their support for the team at Jigaraki, who have hinted that they still have more exciting plans in the pipeline.
