Popular pizzeria could return as pop-up during second lockdown
For pizza fans in Bristol, the imminent second national lockdown has one silver lining.
A pizzeria owned by the same team behind its two neighbouring Michelin-starred restaurants could be reopening more than two years since it unexpectedly closed.
Pi Shop in Redcliffe originally opened in 2016, with the likes of a pizza costing £30 made with shavings of Australian truffle and 36-month aged Parmesan cheese.

Nothing is confirmed as yet, but on Monday, Pi Shop co-owner Peter Sanchez-Iglesias posted a photo on Instagram of his baby daughter, Mae, captioned ‘Pi shop 2.0’.
This was later made into a Story by Pi Shop’s official account, which has been inactive since June 2018.

Since closing, Pi Shop has acted as a test kitchen for both Casamia and Paco Tapas, as well as briefly becoming a bakery, The 3rd, that opened in March but only lasted a few days due to the first lockdown.
Sanchez-Iglesias is also the head chef of Decimo at The Standard hotel in London’s King’s Cross, but like all restaurants that will also be forced to close after Wednesday for at least four weeks.
