Recruiting the next generation of hospitality professionals

By Bristol24/7  Friday May 18, 2018

From Spanish tapas to San Francisco-style brunch, street food to tacos, a Bristol food and drink business like no other is looking to recruit people for a variety of new roles.

Season + Taste – the company behind Bravas, Bakers & Co, Cargo Cantina and Corner 77 – is hosting a recruitment open day in an effort to attract new staff and proactively counter an industry-wide problem.

Walk-in interviews will be held at Corner 77 on Stokes Croft from 10am to 3pm on Thursday, May 24, with the Season + Taste team looking for talented chefs and front of house staff to join one of their existing sites, as well as for people for their latest venture Gambas which is due to open next month at Cargo 2 in Wapping Wharf.

Season + Taste host regular foreign research trips for their staff, as well as running an in-house apprenticeship scheme

Seasoon + Taste co-founders Kieran and Imogen Waite will both be at the event, alongside their executive chef Mark Chapman and operations manager José Moreno.

“We are trying something different in an effort to engage with more people and being proactive about finding new talent to join our team,” Kieran said.

José joined Season + Taste in 2012 and has worked across a variety of roles before more recently being promoted to operations manager.

He said: “The company has invested in me which has allowed me to grow and in return I have been able to shape our restaurants in ways that I feel are important.

“I’m looking forward to meeting the next group of people who will come on board and make their mark on the business.”

Season + Taste’s recruitment open day takes place from 10am to 4pm on Thursday, May 24 at Corner 77 on Stokes Croft. For more information, email kieran@seasonandtaste.co.uk
