Share ways to be #BristolFoodKind at home
A new campaign is calling for people across Bristol to share how they are caring for themselves and their community through food.
Bristol Food Kind asks people staying at home during the coronavirus pandemic to share practical ideas on how to shop, reduce food waste and grow at home in a way that is good for individuals and the wider community.
The campaign is from the Bristol Green Capital Partnership team behind Bristol’s bid to become a Gold Sustainable Food City.
is needed now More than ever
It highlights how buying from local, independent food providers, buying only what we need and eating what we have, and growing even small amounts of food at home can benefit our own physical and mental wellbeing, and help support local food businesses and services under increased pressure due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Bristol mayor, Marvin Rees, said: “It is inspiring to see how Bristol is working together to ensure everyone in the city has access to the food they need at this challenging time.
“Thank you to everyone who is playing a part – from shop workers to volunteers and those at home who are being mindful of what they are buying. It is really important we all pull together at this time so no one goes hungry.”
