Spicer & Cole open fourth Bristol cafe
A growing Bristol cafe chain has opened its fourth cafe in a rapidly changing area of the city.
There was already a queue at the counter of Spicer & Cole in Finzels Reach on their opening morning on Wednesday.
The cafe on the corner of Counterslip and Old Temple Street occupies part of the ground floor of the Premier Inn hotel.
is needed now More than ever
It joins the other Spicer & Cole cafes on Queen Square Avenue, Princess Victoria Street in Clifton Village and Gloucester Road.

Spicer & Cole regulars will be able to see plenty of similarities in this new cafe, including the familiar red jars of Lyle’s Black Treacle on the tables now containing sugar.
The cafe occupies an L-shaped space and is the first time co-owners Carla and Chris Swift have been able to work within a new build rather than take on an existing unit.
Out of one window is a view of the leaning spire of Temple Church, with plenty of cascading greenery inside and a fine choice of magazines including Lagom and Positive News.

One difference here is that there is filter coffee from Extract in St Werburgh’s, who also provide Spicer & Cole’s house blend.
This is alongside a guest espresso that is currently from Kainamui on the slopes of Mount Kenya, roasted by Crankhouse in Exeter, with tasting notes of blackcurrant and pink grapefruit.
Among the food options are the likes of field mushrooms with thyme on toast, sweet potato hash and full English for breakfast; and sandwiches, tortilla and salads for lunch.
As Finzels Reach continues to change around it – with Casamia’s new development kitchen and a new brewery and brewpub from Left Handed Giant due to open later this year – Spicer & Cole have chosen a great location for their new home.
