St Werburgh’s restaurant will only reopen when coronavirus vaccine found
One of Bristol’s best restaurants will not reopen as a sit-down establishment until a coronavirus vaccine has been found.
The Cauldron in St Werburgh’s opened in 2016 and has built up a national reputation for its cooking with pits of charcoal, a 60-litre cast iron cauldron and a Victorian iron stove.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the award-winning Mina Road restaurant has switched its focus to serving provisions for the local community, coffee from its front decking, and hot takeaway meals including pizza and fish and chips.
is needed now More than ever
Due to the continued health emergency, The Cauldron will not be returning to its original business anytime soon.
In a statement, owner Henry Eldon said: “We have taken the decision to not reopen as a sit-down restaurant until there is a vaccine in place for Covid-19.
“We believe we have a responsibility to protect our staff and community from the virus and feel it would be irresponsible to have groups of people dine in a small enclosed space like ours during the pandemic.”
