Jamaica Street Stores occupied a prime building just off Stokes Croft

Located in a former screenprinting works on the ground floor of Jamaica Street Studios, O’Loughlin named it one of the best 100 places to eat out in the UK last year.

She wrote: “There are more ambitious restaurants in Bristol (Bellita, Wilson’s and Bell’s Diner were all close to making the cut), but my heart belongs to this rackety beauty.”

The sign on the window of the restaurant reads: “We’re sorry to say that Jamaica Street Stores is now closed until further notice. We would like to thank our customers for their continued support over the last two years and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
