Street food market to open in Montpelier
Some of Bristol’s most popular street food traders will be serving their wares at a former squat in Montpelier before it becomes a vegan restaurant and clothes shop.
The likes of Niang’s Thai Snacks, Engi’s Kitchen and Lovett Pies will all be hosted in what was most recently known as the Magpie squat.
From December 1, the day of the Picton Street Christmas Fair, the corner of Picton Street and Ashley Road will become known as The Rabbit Hole.
is needed now More than ever

Burger Theory have already started work on their corner of the Rabbit Hole
Four traders (Burger Theory, Orale, Indian Masala and Agnes Spencer Amazing) will have permanent residencies from Tuesday to Sunday, while the other five (Lovett Pies, Niang’s Thai Snacks, Enggi’s Kitchen, Don’t Waffle Let’s Eat and Sri-Licious) will pop up less regularly.
The outside area will be home to the food stalls while the building will be a new bar.
Future plans for the site come spring 2019 are an outdoor farmers’ market, with the ground floor of the building becoming a vegan restaurant and upstairs becoming a clothes shop with an emphasis on local designers.

The former Magpie squat will first become a bar, and then a restaurant and clothes shop
“The first phase is going to be great when it opens in December but the second phase in spring is really exciting,” Vanessa Von Tain told the Bristol Post.
“The outdoor area will be converted into a Victorian-style garden inspired by the Mad Hatter’s tea party while the building will welcome a new vegan restaurant and cheap designer clothing store.
“I want to sell clothes from local fashion students in the shop to give them a platform for them to start their careers, and am currently on the lookout for them.”
