Tare Bistro to open in place of Picole

By Martin Booth  Monday Oct 9, 2023

The team behind Tare restaurant are rebranding their other business in Wapping Wharf as Tare Bistro.

Tare Bistro is opening on Wednesday in what was most recently Picole, which opened in December 2022 in the former Woky Ko Rooftop.

The new restaurant and bar on the first floor of Cargo 2 on Museum Street promises a diverse wine list, local beers and ciders, and seasonal food from an open kitchen.

Tare Bistro will “remain true to the quality and values that have defined Tare from the very beginning, whilst offering a dining experience at an accessible price point”.

“The expanded menu features a blend of newly developed dishes and classic favourites, taking inspiration from the best local producers and suppliers, paired with an extensive selection of carefully chosen wines.”

Tare and Tare Bistro owner, Matt Hampshire, said: “Our journey began in 2017 and we are immensely proud of the reputation we’ve built in the community over the years.

“We are excited to continue being an integral part of the Wapping Wharf family, and look forward to sharing this exciting new phase with our loyal customers and newcomers alike.”
