Taste a new cuisine this summer with Deliveroo
From street food to record shops, markets to artists, Bristol is full to the brim with indie businesses. It’s given Bristol the ‘fiercely independent’ reputation it has today – in this article we hear from some of the best local artists and restaurants that the city has to offer in partnership with Deliveroo.
Learn more about local artist: Sepr
Shaun Sepr is Bristol born and bred, and is a prolific character-based artist and tattooist whose work can be seen throughout the streets of Bristol and beyond. He was tasked with creating a unique piece of artwork to represent Noa Japanese to showcase what makes this restaurant so special.
is needed now More than ever
Shaun loves to work with playful personalities in his art, and this piece presented an opportunity to use colour and fun food-related imagery to breathe life into two new characters. He said: “The fish and shrimp are a fun nod to sushi, and the chopstick sushi bike and sidecar ties the artwork together in a playful way”.
Rolling in flavour: Noa Japanese
One to add to the ever growing list of takeaways to try in Bristol, is Noa Japanese. Located on Waterloo Street in the heart of Clifton, this restaurant serves a mix of traditional and fusions of classic dishes.
Noa is committed to serving healthy and flavourful Washkou cuisine, and is the perfect place to start if you’re looking to sample a taste of Japan. The menu is filled with choices, including miso soup, tempura and sashimi, as well as Chicken Katsu Curry, grilled mackerel with sea salt, rice and pickles, and the mint panna cotta if you have room for dessert.
So whether you’re looking to stay in with a film and some sushi-sharers, or have a restaurant-ready date night in your kitchen, Noa’s range of dishes will have something for everyone, and Sepr’s art has captured all things Noa in his artwork.
Give something new a try this summer
With the weather in the UK warming up, maybe you’re looking to dine al-fresco on a balmy evening, or pop to your local green space for a lunch break in the sunshine. Whatever the reason, if you’re looking for something light and fresh to eat, Noa has you covered.
Japanese cuisine is booming in popularity with the more adventurous foodies out there, but some of the UK are yet to try some of its finest delicacies. Some 48% of Brits haven’t tried Maki, and 47% haven’t given Nigiri a whirl due to lack of knowledge around the cuisine, according to research.
With all the choices out there, it’s easy to bounce back to your old favourites, but Deliveroo is working to expand your foodie horizons by championing some of Bristol’s best indie food spots for the summer ahead.
With the help of a huge mural in the centre of the city and a selection of locally created artworks, Deliveroo is putting 10 of the city’s best loved indies in the spotlight to help locals find their new favourite, with Noa Japanese at the heart of this collaboration.
The colourful piece of artwork by Sepr is on display across the streets of Bristol, so keep your eyes open!
