The Arnolfini now serves Breakfast from 8am

With a £750,000 funding cut in the latest round of Arts Council England hand-outs, the Arnolfini is desperately looking for new ways to make money or face an uncertain future.

Expect more travelling exhibitions soon at the gallery in order to attract more visitors through the doors – a drastic reevaluation of priorities from somewhere more used to premiering avant-garde shows, the ones that might appeal to curators but not necessarily the wider public.

Coffee and croissants aren’t by themselves going to plug the funding gap but opening the Arnolfini cafe from 8am since the beginning of this month is one sign that every last bit of income is being squeezed out of the organisation.
