Two Bristol faces in Imbibe’s ‘Faces of 2015’

By Martin Booth  Friday Jan 23, 2015

A trade magazine for professionals working in the drinks industry has included two well-known Bristol faces in their Personality Awards 2015 shortlist.

Jack Bevan from The Ethicurean in Wrington is in the Imbibe Innovator of the Year category, while Dee Davies from Red Light in the city centre is among the Hot Stuff nominees.

Bevan is the driving force behind The Collector vermouth, a complex blend of wine, caramel and 20 botanicals collected from the restaurant’s walled garden, as well as wild ingredients foraged from the North Somerset countryside.

Davies’ blend of English gin and Japanese sake is now in production by none other than global drinks giant Diageo. Read our interview with her here.

The fifth annual Imbibe awards recognise and celebrate “those movers and shakers who have made an outstanding contribution to the world of drinks professionals”.

With initial nominations invited from our readers across the categories of bar, restaurant, hotel and pub, plus innovator, educator, hot stuff and legend, several hundred names were put forward and well over 1,000 Imbibe readers had their say.

The winners will be announced at the beginning of February.
