Wine bar Veeno opens near Temple Meads

By Bristol24/7  Wednesday May 18, 2016

Don’t call Veeno a wine bar. Now open on Glass Wharf underneath the offices of Burges Salmon, its publicity people want it to be known as a “wine cafe”.

It’s the sixth to open in a growing chain founded in Manchester in 2013 which offers solely Italian wines and spuntini, mainly platters of meats and cheeses imported from Italian producers.

Veeno co-founder Nino Caruso said: “We finally have the chance to go south, and it is a tremendous opportunity to showcase our concept and our products to a new audience.

“Veeno Bristol is ideally located to service the lunchtime crowds with authentic Italian sandwiches, as well as to offer a place to relax and unwind after work with our family produced wine.”
