Veg box service saving surplus produce expands to Bristol
A veg box service delivering produce that would otherwise be discarded has expanded to serve Bristol and the South West.
Oddbox, will start serving customers in Bristol, Bath, Gloucester and Cardiff as part of the company’s aim to reduce food waste.
Oddbox has been operating its weekly “rescue missions” in London and the South East for the last five years and has delivered over two million boxes of “odd” and surplus produce during that time.
is needed now More than ever
“Odd” produce is classed as the fruit and vegetable classed as “too big”, “too ugly” or the “wrong colour” supermarkets.
Having saved 13,790 tonnes of food from going to waste in the past half a decade, the equivalent of how much food 29,977 people would eat in a year, Oddbox is expanding its delivery radius to more than 700,000 households in Bristol and beyond.
The company will also be partnering with local farms, packaging and delivery firms to help boost the South West’s economy.

Customers can order three types of boxes in three different sizes. A fruit and veg box, fruit box and veg box can be ordered in small, medium and large to be delivered each week.
“We’re delighted to be expanding Oddbox into the South West, grow our community of people doing good for the planet and support our growers by rescuing delicious ‘odd’ fruit and veg from going to waste,” says Emilie Vanpoperinghe, co-founder and CEO.
“We’re committed to helping people live more sustainably – widening our reach into the South West means we can have a greater collective impact.”
With the climate change crisis becoming increasingly urgent, Oddbox is a small way people in the South West can help the planet’s health.
