Wiper & True to open new brewery and taproom

By Martin Booth  Friday May 21, 2021

One of Bristol’s best breweries is set to get even bigger and better with the opening of a new brewery and taproom.

Wiper & True began as a ‘gypsy brewer’, utilising other breweries’ kits to brew their own beer.

They now have two sites in St Werburgh’s – their headquarters on York Street and a barrel store on nearby Merstham Road – but still need even more space to keep up with customer demand.

The Wiper & True team have now put in a license application with Bristol City Council for a new brewery and taproom in Easton.

The brewery’s new home will be within a 28,000 sq ft warehouse at City Business Park on Easton Road, close to Easton Leisure Centre.

Wiper & True’s Alice Howells told Bristol24/7 that there will be “plenty of space for a huge, modern tap room and a brand new brewery, as well as room for our business to grow – just what we’ve been dreaming of!

“We get the keys in the winter time and hope to open up to the public in spring 2022.

“Our locals need not worry, as we’ve got some exciting plans for our York Street site in St Werburgh’s too.”
